INTRO
North East Carolina Preparatory School will be located in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, in the Tarboro area. It will open serving grades K-8 in year one, and will add one grade level per year to serve students through grade-12 by year-5. The school will seek to serve primarily “at-risk” students, using a technology oriented curriculum that promotes diversity and student involvement.

MISSION
…to nurture students’ natural curiosity and joy of learning while they achieve academic excellence through a challenging, interdisciplinary, international curriculum. NECP students, parents, teachers, and staff will create a stimulating learning community that develops: critical and compassionate thinkers; confident and open-minded communicators; resourceful and responsible citizens and leaders of our local and global communities.

FACILITY
The site for the first phase of NECP is the Mary Frances Center in Tarboro, North Carolina. The facility was formerly used as a correctional facility for women. As such it has a large open fields surrounding, and the facility itself is hospitable for conversion to a school. The second phase in year two will be a new construction facility on land adjacent to the remodeled school.
