Kestrel Heights Charter School , founded in 1998 as a public charter school, serves students in grades 6-12 in the greater Durham area. We believe that all children can succeed in a safe and challenging environment that is dedicated to nurturing lifelong learners. By fostering a community with high expectations, modeling characteristics of responsible citizenship, and focusing on the development of the whole person, we believe we will help to create a great school for all children. Kestrel Heights School is associated in partnership with the Ackland Museum and the National Paideia Center at UNC Chapel Hill.
