Benjamin Franklin Charter School is an academically focused educational program with a phonics-based approach to our Language Arts core. The program stresses excellence in Mathematics, Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar, Literature, History, and Science, with enhancements in Art, General Music, Band, Orchestra, Physical Education and Sports.
This is project is a replacement campus for an existing charter school located in Gilbert AZ. The school is currently leasing a campus comprised of portable buildings. The facility is will likely be developed based on the HMSD prototypical 2-story design, with a full size basketball/volleyball facility and house 800 +/- K-8 students. The school is also considering a single-story design, since the campus will likely remain smaller than their Queen Creek campus. Complimenting the Gilbert community will also be part of the design consideration. Ben Franklin Charter School’s class sizes are based on 30-35 students and classrooms are targeted at 800-900 sf.
