Benjamin Franklin Charter School is an academically focused educational program with a phonics-based approach to our Language Arts core. The program stresses excellence in Mathematics, Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar, Literature, History, and Science, with enhancements in Art, General Music, Band, Orchestra, Physical Education and Sports.
This project is a replacement campus for an existing charter school located in NE Queen Creek. The school is currently leasing a campus comprised of portable buildings within a mile of this site. The facility is being developed based on the HMSD prototypical 2-story design, with a full size basketball/volleyball facility and initially house 750 +/- students. The design will incorporate a future expansion, which would allow the school to eventually be a 1000 student K-6 facility or house middle school students should the planned new MS/HS facility become overcrowded or delayed in development. Ben Franklin Charter School’s class sizes are based on 30-35 students and classrooms are targeted at 800-900 sf.
